Now it starts sometimes but wont stay running, then when you try to start it wont go but tries really hard, changed fuel filter which was very dirty, no go, please help! How soon after swapping the plugs did this occur? This is important because you make it sound like it could be related otherwise you should leave that info out or at least mention a timeline. "tries really hard" -What does that mean? Do you mean the cylinders fire here and there but not enough to run? Could be: fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, ignition module, ignition coils(should be plug-on-wire type so it would have to be multiple coils gone bad), a sensor(could be a few different ones). Run the codes to see what malfunction the computer is telling you. Auto parts : Fuel Level Gauge Acura 1995 . Fuel Line Alfa Romeo 1996 . Fuel Line Disconnect Tool Audi 1997 . It's inconvenient because the alarm goes off everytime I unlock the doors with my key. I believe it's a sensor in the jeep because the battery in both fobs has been changed. Geo . How to Remove the Exterior Trim From an ExcursionExterior auto trim molding is found along the outside of the car on the sides. It adds design and a personalized style to the vehicle. Over time, the molding on your car can become worn and damaged, due to the elements and everyday wear and tear. This damage leads to unattractive trim that detracts from the look of your car. One option, at this point, is to replace the trim. The first step is to remove the existing molding. This can be completed in just a few minutes by any car owner. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Plastic putty knife Cotton rags Screwdriver Adhesive remover Step by Step : 1 Remove any screws underneath the molding or around the edges with a screwdriver. Pour adhesive remover onto a cotton rag and cover the exterior trim with the remover. Spread it out over the entire piece. 2 Slide a plastic putty knife under the exterior trim and begin prying it up. Push down firmly between the car and the molding. Continue scraping until it is loose enough to pull out. 3 Grab the molding with your hands--wear gloves--and pull out to continue removing it. Scrape as you pull and peel off the entire piece. Repeat the process for the molding on the other side of the car. 4 Clean the surface of the car with alcohol to remove any remaining residue, and wipe it dry with a clean rag.
Geo . How to Remove the Exterior Trim Panels on a Ford ExcursionThe exterior trim panels on a Ford Excursion are for decorative purposes only. The panels are factory installed and provide the Excursion with a clean finish at the bottom of the truck. If you do not like the look of the exterior trim panels on your Excursion, you can use an auto trim tool or a plastic putty knife to remove them. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Auto trim and molding tool set, or a plastic putty knife Adhesive remover Rubber gloves Clean rags Bucket Soap Warm water Step by Step : 1 Insert the tip of an automobile trim removing tool (or a plastic putty knife) into the gap at the end of the trim on the Excursion. 2 Gently push the tool and wiggle it around to dig underneath the trim until the trim begins to peel away from the Excursion. 3 Grab the loosened end of the trim and continue scraping the trim away with the tool until the trim is completely removed from the Excursion. Pull the trim away from the Excursion with your free hand as you scrape it away with the tool. 4 Repeat this with each piece of trim on the Excursion. 5 Put on a pair of rubber gloves. 6 Soak a clean rag in adhesive remover. 7 Wipe the adhesive remover over the glue leftover from the piece of trim. Wipe away as much glue as you can. 8 Scrape away any remaining glue with an automobile adhesive removing tool (or a plastic putty knife). 9 Fill a bucket with soap and warm water. Soak a clean rag in the soapy water and wash the areas of the Excursion which used to be covered with trim to wash away any adhesive remover. *Sometimes it's easier to connect the lead wires that come from the points and the condenser before you replace the points in the distributor. 3. Be sure that the clips on both wires touch each other but do not touch any other metal. They're designed to go back to back so they fit snugly into the clip on the primary terminal. Refer to Figures 12-21 through 12-24 to see the different types of configurations and the way to reassemble yours. OA Q Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System If you don't see your configuration in these illustrations — and you neglected to make a drawing of the way yours was — use your imagina tion. If you get it wrong, your car simply won't start until you get it right. Nothing else will happen, so don't worry. Just fit the wire clips together and put them in the clip so that they're not touching anything metal (this includes the side of the clip, if it's made of metal, and the distribu tor base). As I said earlier, this can be done either before or after you get 551

Chapter 12: Keeping Your Electrical System in Tune O A 1 Adjust your points Now it's time to adjust your point gap (also called "gapping your points"). Before you can adjust the point gap, the little rubbing block that protrudes from the side of the points nearest the cam wheel must rest on the highest point of one of the cam lobes. This forces the points open to their widest gap — and that's the gap you're going to adjust: 1. If the rubbing block isn't resting on the point of the cam lobe, use your ignition key to "bump" your starter until the cam wheel turns to the correct position (see Figures 12-35 and 12-36). Figure 12-35: The rubbing block causes the points to open when it is pushed up by the highest point on the cam lobe. Figure 12-36: Crank the engine with the starting motor until the point rubbing block is on the peak of the cam lobe. This brings the points to their widest gap. O A O Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System If you have difficulty doing this, run a chalk mark down the side of the distributor and onto the base, or whatever it's sitting on. (This line will help you later to get it back the way it was.) Then turn to the section called "Adjust your timing," later in this chapter, to see how to locate the distributor hold-down clamp. Loosen it and turn the distributor until the rubbing block is resting on the point of the cam lobe and the points are wide open. 2. Look at your specifications for the proper point gap; then take your flat feeler gauge and select the correct blade. Geo . What is the active ingredient in natural gas?

Slide the blade of the feeler gauge between the points and note how narrow or wide the opening is. Is the gap too small to let the blade in? If you left it like that, your car would be hard — or impossible — to start, and your points would get burnt and pitted. Is the gap so wide that the gauge doesn't touch both surfaces as it goes in and out? This results in a weak spark and poor engine performance at high speeds. So if your gap is either too wide or too small, it needs adjusting. There are three basic kinds of point-adjusting set-ups. Some cars have an adjusting screw (in addition to the screw or screws that hold the points in place). Other cars have an adjusting slot. Still others have a little window in the distributor cap that allows you to adjust the points without removing the distributor cap. Look at Figures 12-37,12-38, and 12-39 to determine which one your vehicle has and then follow the appropriate set of steps: If you have an adjusting screw, see Figure 12-37 and follow these steps: 1.
